Clara Hanzal

CV

Clara Hanzal works in the media of sound and ceramics. She shapes sculptural sound objects and develops experimental instruments in clay, which she uses in installative and performative contexts. In her installations and performances she creates slowed-down, intimate experiences of perception.

Her work engages with the human being — with the body and with felt experience as much as with the social dynamics of being together. Her practice centres on making spaces: places of shared resonance, where people come into contact with themselves and with one another.

Curatorial practice

Since 2024 Clara Hanzal has curated die_bucht, a collectively conceived event series — a space for experimental sound, performance and installation, made for exchange and for trying out ideas. Every two weeks, artists present performance and installation concepts or workshop formats.
